Monkey Forests, Rice Fields, Temples….oh my! Ubud was INCREDIBLE. We drove about an hour outside of Seminyak to Ubud for a few nights in a hostel to experience more of the “touristy excursions.” Located literally in the middle of the jungle, we fell in LOVE with Ubud.
Where we stayed:
PURI GARDEN HOSTEL. I can’t say enough amazing things about this place (not to mention it was SO cheap.) There were 4 of us traveling so we were lucky enough to secure a 4-bed, female room and take up the entire space. The employees at Puri were so helpful when planning out things to do in Ubud. There is also the greatest restaurant attatched to the hostel and not to mention free messages in the afternoon….yes…. every afternoon.
Excursions: Some of our favorites….
Tegalalang Rice Terrace
Temples / so many
The ridge walk at sunrise was spectacular..so peaceful and quiet.
Balinese massages (such a great deal $$)
Ubud Palace (would have loved to go here, we didn’t have enough time.)
Cooking Class (this was also something we were debating doing and I would for sure add this to my list next time I go)
Ubud Market (food & everything else you didn’t know you needed.)
There are a couple of the worlds best spa’s in Ubud that overlook the rice terrace’s in the middle of the jungle. We wish we booked one of these ahead of time (she told us you have to book months in advance so if you’re traveling to Ubud, book early!)
